Comments:[Update 08/22/05]I served in Kilo 3/1 from 3/67-7/67 when I was transferred to H&S S-3. I served in Operations Planning and other areas such as Legal when needed until I returned home in early April, 1968. I remained in the Reserve attaining the enlisted rank of Staff Sergeant. In 1978, I was commissioned directly to the rank of Captain as a Comptroller. I was the CO/OIC of three Reserve Units in Arizona and Connecticut working primarily for the Warfighting Center at Quantico, Va. I retired in a ceremony aboard the USS Constitution in Charlestown, Mass. in June,2001 and formally retired from the "gray area" in December, 2003.-- Kilo Company 3/67-6/67; H&S S-3 6/67-3/68...Stayed in the Reserves, Commissioned in 1978 and retired in 2001 as a LTCOL. Attended the Battalion Reunion in San Diego in 2000 and the Kilo Co Reunion in Camp LeJeune in 2002.---Served with K-3/1 from Mar,67-July,67 then in S-3 Ops from July,67-Dec,67, then Legal & D..all the above until I left in Feb,68...Worst time was working the triage on the Valley Forge during Badger Tooth/Catch in late December, 67...Best time was coming home in Feb, 68.....Stayed in the Marine Reserves, Commissioned, and will retire on the USS Constitution in January, 2001. It's been a hell of a run and not a day goes by when I don't remember the sacrifices made by a whole generation. Served with Kilo Co 3/1 from 3/67-6/67, 2ndPlt, 2ndSquad, 0341.
