Bonderud, Robert    

I was assigned to the Tank Platoon of BLT 3/1 in May 1968. At the end of May 68, my tour of duty with BLT 3/1 ended and we took one of the two remaining BLT tanks by mike boat from the Cua Viet River to Da Nang and joined our parent company, C Co. 1st Tank Bn. The tank crew was Sgt. Coco, Cpl. Atkinson from New Mexico, PFC Robinson and myself. We participated in Operation Swift Saber north of the Cua Viet river. I only spent several weeks with 3/1, getting signed in on the Valley Forge and putting time in near the DMZ. I will keep those memories til the day I die.
